Optimizing Press Releases to Show Up in Search Engines |

Once you’ve written an effective press release, it’s quick and simple to modify it so that it’ll show up in online searches when posted on your website. Marcia Yudkin describes some ways of making sure that a press release attracts attention not just from the media but from consumers searching on the Web.
A main advantage of putting press releases online is that your target audience may come across them in the course of searching for information, Yudkin says. Pay close attention to wording; use key words and phrases that are likely search engine “hits,” repeating them in the title of the release and several times in the text. Using properly-formatted hyperlinks in the release will also attract online attention and make it easier for potential customers to follow through from the release to the rest of your company’s site.
