Byer provides general advice and direction for anyone preparing a trade show display, covering the steps that are necessary to properly prepare for the show and offering some suggestions for attracting more people to your booth.
First, and most importantly, she recommends thoroughly researching the trade show location and knowing what items you’ll need to provide. It’s vital to know what resources you have – electrical outlets, wall space, the number of tables, etc. – far enough in advance so that you can plan effectively. Also discussed are ways to maximize your booth’s impact using highly-visible signage, effective placement of products and display items, and good usage of PowerPoint and other visuals.
Byer also recommends some small but effective ways to attract more visitors to your booth. Prize drawings, gift certificates, and refreshments are among the traffic-increasing strategies she describes. Byer also presents some common-sense ways of making sure that those who visit your booth leave with a clear picture of what your company does and what products or services you offer, making your trade show efforts worthwhile.
